µTorrent – a well-known BitTorrent client for Windows or Mac platforms – can now be downloaded from the Google Play store.
Available in beta format, the popular μTorrent client is pleasantly devoid of advertisements, speed limits; plus it is free to download and use for the time being.
μTorrent Blog states that its software engineers had succeeded in developing the mobile BitTorrent application following months of hard work. The blog added that the mobile BitTorrent application was worthy of the name “µTorrent” as it lived up to high standard qualities, such as fast, lightweight and powerful. The developers claimed that new beta application was better than anything else currently available in the market.
Announcing the beta release of μTorrent, the blog said, “After months of hard work (and copious amounts of coffee) we are proud to release µTorrent Beta for Android to the Google Play store.” – μTorrent Blog
The new beta application is not the first μTorrent for Android as there are already a host of other Android torrent clients available in the market, but it is really the first when we consider that it is devoid of advertisements, has impressive speed and available for free.
The new application claims to be one of the favorite Android torrent torrent clients so far. It boasts a smooth user interface, plus a host of striking features. It is expected to become a big compliment to the popular Windows client that has gained 140 million users worldwide. In brief, the newly-minted application can be described as a handy tool for users of Android handsets and tablets.
However, concerns over privacy do exist. A research by University of Birmingham in UK recently suggested that around 25 per cent of the most popular torrents are continuously monitored by copyright holders. It is, thus, quite possible that a single HD download can burn your entire month’s worth of mobile data.
