Get all set to play any sort of media file on an Android smartphone in the future. After over a year of development, the official VLC Android app is now available on Google Play.

The VLC Android app developed by the VLC Mobile right now has an unstable BETA version, and it is friendly only with Android devices having ARNv7 CPUs supporting NEON media processing engine. The VLC Beta (Neon version) is right now offered free on Google play. On July 2nd 2012, the app was introduced on the Android market after an unofficial announcement published online in March 2012. The current edition is a bit slower and more unstable than what the final version would be. The VLC Beta targets power users and hackers, but it is not for all-purpose customers.

The VLC Android app can play many audio and video files plus network streams. It incorporates a media library for video and audio files as well as sets aside direct folder browsing. The app includes innumerable features like auto-ration, aspect-ration adjustments and multi-task audio. It comprises a widget for audio control plus holds up audio handsets control, cover art and many more.

The VLC Android app has been released under the GNU General Public License. Right here download the VLC Beta (Neon version) Android app.
