If you happen to own an HTC Amaze 4G, you’re in for some good news. T- Mobile has launched the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade for the HTC Amaze 4G. However, this phone will continue to run the old Sense 3.6 and will not get an upgrade to Sense 4.
The HTC Amaze 4G will now run the latest version of Google’s Android OS. Although a Sense 4 update was expected, the ICS upgrade will be sufficient to impress the users with its unique features. Some of the new features offered by ICS are Face Unlock, advanced controls for data usage, better battery life, among others. You will also be able to use new apps like Chrome for Android, which runs only on Android 4.0.
To begin, first go to Settings>About Phone> HTC Software Updates>Check, and you will find a notification about a new system update that is available for your device. However, in case you have already rooted your Amaze 4G, you’ll have to wait for a while since it takes around two days for a rooted version of the update file to appear. However, if you can’t wait, you can use one of the ROMS available that offer both Android 4.0 and Sense 3.6, but that is completely your decision.
Make sure that you have battery life of at least 50% before downloading the update. Enjoy!
