Facebook have acquired Instagram for a cool amount of a billion dollars just recently. After this success the people at Instagram got another reason to celebrate. Around 5 million downloads were recorded by the company via the newly launched Instagram app for the Android.
This app was released just a week ago, six days back, to be precise. Google Playstore, previously the Android Market, has said that the number of people installing Instagram for Android app is somewhere between 5 million and 10 million. This becomes all the more relevant in the light of the fact that the iOS version had taken 6 months to reach about 5 million consumers.
