It was really surprising that the Huawei Honor received the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich beta update ahead of Samsung galaxy S2 and HTC sensation. The Chinese company announced the release of Android 4.0 ICS public beta firmware update for Miezu and Meizu M9.

A couple of years ago, Meizu was looked as a company famous for manufacturing best iPhone replica, but now it is slowly gaining its respect in Asia and overseas. The company is now manufacturing the handsets with Android OS and pretty much decent hardware specs. The Meizu MX and M9 are receiving the android 4.0 beta update after one and a half month of rigorous tests by the developers. The new release is based on the stock Android 4.0, so the user interface was not customized.

The update is intended to bring face unlock, an efficient multitasking and also allows users to take images while recording videos. The private beta program initiated by Meizu in February grossed some positive response. During the private beta program, both developers and Huawei owners tested android 4.0 on their smartphones. This resulted in an increase in the overall performance of the phone and also fixation of some bugs.
