Opera has ported its WebGL hardware acceleration from its Opera mobile to the Android version of the Opera mini7, which first showed off at Mobile world Congress in Barcelona.
The opera mini for android comes with some enhanced features. It comes with an improved browsing feature regarded as turbo hardware acceleration. And speed dial has also been extended beyond 9 websites. However it doesn’t comes with new interactive home screen with social networking feature, for people with lower powered phones.
According to the Philip Gronvold, product manager Opera, the browser’s data compressing feature “turbo” makes it a better choice for people struggling with the strict data rules. He also stated that turbo behaves differently with different versions of opera. The turbo actually sacrifices the website stability for the data saving sometimes up to 90 percent.
Moreover, the development is on for the Opera 12. HTML5 compatibility allows drag and drop of items between the websites or to the desktop. CSS3 animations have also been added to opera 12.
Out of the process plugin is also been added, which prevents plugin crashes from crashing entire browsing session. It also allows 32 bit plugins to run in 64 bit browser.
