Google has proposed to pay a certain percentage of the Android revenue to Oracle, if oracle prove the violation of the mobile technology at the trial, but oracle denied the offer claiming it to be too low.
Oracle Corp sued the Google Inc. in 2010, claiming that the android technology is violating the Oracle’s Java patents. A trial is scheduled to occur at April 16.
Oracle also sued Google for copyright bleach. It says Google should pay hundreds of million dollars on that assertion. However the judge has asked both the companies to come up with some solution to simplify the whole process. In response to this, Google proposed if Oracle succeeds in proving the patent bleach then Google will not go for fight about the damages, if its figures are agreed.
Google offered to pay $2.8 million in damages, covering the period up to 2011. And for the future damages company agreed to pay Oracle about 0.5 percent of the Android revenue on first patent until it expires and 0.015 percent on another until it expires in April 2018.
Oracle said that the offer made by the Google is too low and is not going to sacrifice the chances of winning and injunction.
