Asus may already be working on a successor to it’s Eee Pad Transformer tablet, but that doesn’t mean the original version isn’t a great choice when thinking about taking the tablet plunge. It has an update to Android 3.2 available right now, so you are also getting the latest version of Honeycomb along the way. Pretty much the biggest reason to get this tablet is the keyboard dock, which not only adds up to 10 extra hours of battery life, but also gives you a viable netbook alternative when you need more from a tablet.
It looks like NewEgg understands the appeal of getting both the tablet and accessory at the same time, since they are now selling the 16GB Transformer with the keyboard dock for only $499. That’s also a $50 price reduction than getting the dock separately. Pretty good deal for something you would probably get in the first place.
