Notion Ink looking to rebound with the Adam 2, coming this December

Does anyone remember the Notion Ink Adam? Once touted as the best available Android tablet to be released, delays and a non-existent customer support made this tablet doomed before it was released. Saying that this tablet did bad would be an understatement. So it surprises us that the CEO of Notion Ink, Rohan Shravan, has stated that they are looking to release a sequel to the tablet this December “if everything goes fine.”

Can we expect better results from this tablet? As of right now we have nothing to inform us what direction NI is going with this tablet, but we can hope. The original tablet was touted as having the first screen that you could switch display modes for viewing outdoors, a camera that had a 270° viewing angle, and looked fairly stylish. We can probably expect the same things, but what will be most important is the build quality and the hardware. High-end tablets being released around that time will most likely be sporting a quad-core processor and Ice Cream Sandwich, Android’s latest upcoming OS update. If Notion Ink is able to pack these specs into their tablet, all while keeping the same extras that first caught everyone’s attention, then the Adam 2 may turn out to be a contender.

Unfortunately, we thought the same thing with the original Adam, and were sorely disappointed. We’ll just have to wait and see if NI can learn from the first tablets mistake.
