Another update may be hitting XOOM owners soon, bringing the Android OS up to Android 3.2. Up until this point we have only heard of Android 3.2 through a manufacturer, and Google has been quiet about what this update even is. Rumors point to this update, if it is real, bringing Honeycomb support to 7″ tablets, as well as support more chipsets. At least that’s what Archos has told us when talking about their new G9 series tablets. It may seem as though the XOOM will also be getting this update, as pointed out in a recent AOSP issue request:
“There should be a 3.2 update coming within days, and that should help those of you with Xoom”
That comes from what looks like a Google employee, so this could mean we will be hearing some official news about Android 3.2 in the very near future. Aside from the added support shown above, Android 3.2 will also bring some much needed bug fixes that are still plaguing Honeycomb devices.
