It looks like Verizon is going to let the Motorola DROID 3 go unannounced just like the DROID 2 Global. You can now order the DROID 3 online or over the phone for $199.99 on a new 2-year contract or $449.99 outright. You’ll be getting what looks to be one of the better phones on Verizon’s network right now, minus the missing LTE radio. This phone will be packing Android 2.3 Gingerbread, a 4″ qHD display, dual-core 1GHz OMAP4 processor, 16GB of on-board storage (no sd card though), and a redesigned 5-row keyboard. This will also be running a new version of Blur that we have seen recently, most notably the new lockscreen.
If you don’t want to wait for the phone to be sent to you, you can wait an extra week when the phone is expected to be in stores on July 14th. If you’re going to wait that long though, you might as well just get the phone now. Hit the source link to buy the phone online, or dial *611 to talk to a rep on the phone. We’re looking into getting a review unit shortly so stayed tuned for a full review on the next version of DROID.
Update: Verizon has just sent out an official press release announcing the DROID 3′s release. We’ve got the full announcement below.
