Samsung Galaxy SII coming to Verizon this July?

Verizon may be adding another hot phone to their summer lineup. The Motorola DROID 3 has all but been confirmed for a June release, and the DROID Bionic looks to be close to a finished product after some leaked shots. Now we have an email from a Verizon spokesperson who says that the Samsung Galaxy SII, one of the hottest phones everywhere but the US right now, will be coming to Big Red this July. The date has still not been set yet though, so this could change at anytime. We knew that the Galaxy SII would be coming to Verizon sooner or later, and even have reason to believe that it will be called the Samsung Function.

For those that don’t know about th SII, it will have a 4.3″ SAMOLED Plus screen (like with the DROID Charge) and have a dual-core 1.2GHz processor. It will be one of the thinnest phones to date, and of course to top it off it will be running Android 2.3 out of the box. We aren’t sure if this is going to have an LTE radio, only because of the size and adding the radio will probably push back the release. Adding that browsing speed would only make it better though, so we’ll see what Verizon and Samsung try to push out.

Oh, and did we mention that Samsung has already sent the CyanogenMod team a free Galaxy SII for development? Yeah, this is definitely turning out to be a good choice for anyone in the rooting community too.
