Fresh off of the release of two Android smartphones on Verizon’s network(we’re still waiting for the Samsung DROID Charge), we’ve got a juicy rumor on some other highly anticipated Android phones coming out in May. Droid-Life’s “friends at Verizon” say that both the Motorola DROID X2 and the LG Revolution will be released on May 12th, just a week from tomorrow. The DROID X2 is the next-gen version of the DROID X, and although specs are still just rumored, it is expected to be the first phone for Verizon sporting a dual-core processor and other upgrades from the original. The LG Revolution is one of four 4G LTE phones Verizon announced back at CES, and will be the first Android phone to have Netflix streaming capabilities.

If that wasn’t enough, you should also look forward to the Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY being released on May 26th. The PLAY is the first PlayStation Certified smartphone, and it will be the first smartphone running Android 2.3 for Verizon(stock Android at that). You also can’t forget about the dedicated slide-out controller to play PSOne games.

Now, we definitely are posting this as a rumor, but we’ve been waiting for these phones to be released for quite some time now. May seems to be the month that we’ve been expecting many phones to be released, so seeing these phones come out soon won’t surprise us. We definitely won’t be displeased. Any of these phones wetting your appetite?
